ABOUT ME
My name is Aagaash Pathmathevan. I am a sophomore at the University of Maryland, and I am a business management major who is also a member of the Public Leadership sector of the Scholars Program.

I was born in Sri Lanka and lived in Japan for three years before moving to America. I've always been a guy who was different. I've always had trouble dealing with people, due to me having a diagnosed social disorder. However, despite those odds, I persevered and started attending the University of Maryland last year.

Something that I hope I learn from Public Leadership is the ability to understand how to understand people with different viewpoints so I can figure out how to lead, or at least relate to them. I also want to know how I can get more involved in my own community, as I always feel like I've taken a backseat, and I want to be someone who's not afraid to stand up for what I believe in.

Something that I want to get out of university life in general is first, simply knowing how future careers will pan out. While I am currently on the management track, I am also interested in journalism, as it would allow me to get out there and tell a story while also finding current events. I also want to get to know life and how I can live in it, because I've always felt like I was behind in life, and I want to catch up- I want to understand the different shades of personality on a human being, and I want to learn life skills that will help me for the rest of my life.
