THE FUTURE- WHERE I GO FROM HERE
At UMD, I hope to continue taking classes in the business management and journalism fronts, and I will look at all of my classes in a more critical thinking format. One example of a class that I am excite for next semester is JOUR456 (Literature In Journalism). This class is focused on finding the storytelling format in journalist pieces, such as that of Truman Capote. I want to continue perfecting my craft in writing, as not only is it a valuable asset in my future, but I also want to give a unique voice to it. I also want to join a newspaper or radio station at UMD, such as the Diamondback and WMUC, so that I can start understanding the mechanics of journalism.

In my professional career, if I do become a journalist, I want to start small, maybe either a niche radio station or newspaper, like the Frederick News Post, but I also want to go bigger later, by either transitioning to bigger newspapers such as the Baltimore Sun. What I would want to do is write interesting stories about what is going on in society, particularly in the entertainment world or maybe politics, and write them in a way where I am neutral and understanding of different perspectives. If I become a manager, I would want to work in nonprofits or businesses that attract me, such as small businesses. I would eventually want to start a business that helps people, so I would try to manage a nonprofit.
